Our Commitment to Data Protection and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us and we are committed to maintaining high standards of data protection. This notice explains our information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available via the page footer on every page of our website. This notice applies to all personal data collected by The Cantores Spei Choir , including personal data collected or submitted on our website.


The Information We Collect

We only collect personal data for specific purposes (for example, when you contact us for a hire or to join the Choir or to receive updates about concert and news ) and only as it  is necessary for the purpose for which it is collected. We use personal data only for the purpose for which it was collected. We keep data only for so long as is necessary for that purpose, unless there is a legal or regulatory requirement for us to retain the data for a longer period, or we need to do so for audit or accounting purposes or to ensure we have an accurate record of singers who participated in past events.  Where a person has asked us to stop contacting them , we may keep their name in a “no contact” section of our database in order to ensure their request is complied with. You can register with our website if you would like to receive news about The Cantores Spei Choir  including information about our concerts, other events other opportunities to support the Choir.

Where we receive a communication by email, we will use the return email address only:

  • to answer the email we have received, or
  • where we have a legitimate interest in using the email address or
  • if it is necessary for us to use the email address in order to meet our contractual obligations

and not for any other purpose, unless the person sending the email has registered or otherwise consented to receive communications from us.


Deletion of Data held by us

We review the personal data we hold at regular intervals and delete any personal data which is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected unless we have the consent of the person to whom it relates to retain it or we need to retain it for legal, accounting or regulatory  reasons.


How you can access or correct your Information or ask us to delete it

You can access any of your personal data that we have collected by requesting it via email to choir@cantorespei.co.uk

Similarly, you can ask us to correct any factual errors in your personal data or ask us to delete it by email to Choir@cantorespei.co.uk. Corrections or deletions will normally be made within one week  of the relevant request being received, however please note, however, that we will only be able to correct personal data if the error to be corrected and the correct information are clear from the email we receive.  Where you have asked us not to contact you, your name may be retained on a “non-contact” section of our database in order to ensure we comply with your To protect your privacy and security, where appropriate we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access, making corrections or deleting information.


Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorised access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.


Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information on our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13. The choir will need consent from the parents or guardian for under 18 who wish to  join and sing with the choir.


Image and Video

Every member has to give consent for their picture to be taken and used for marketing purposes. Parents and guardians of children under 18 will also  give consent in writing  for the video or photograph of the child to be used on the website and social media of the Cantores Spei Choir. If a child or their parent, guardian or carer wishes to see any photograph or video of the child concerned or would like any such photograph of video to be destroyed or deleted, they should contact: Choir@cantorespei.co.uk
